As most Jiu-Jitsu competitors prepare for upcoming tournaments, much can be learned from cross fitness trainers who are familiar with the Jiu-Jitsu sport which can be a good resource of information as it pertains to dieting and nutrition. I recently spoke with a cross trainer and the suggestion for cutting weight were not only helpful but seemed healthy and well balanced! Often times, I here competitors talk about “cutting weight” by removing all water and solid food substance from their bodies. This clearly leaves you fatigue and, for many,doesn’t seem like a good strategy. Before I provide the full recipe, please enjoy the content of the ingredients and your new morning drink!
Grass-Fed Butter has large amount of vitamin k-12, which helps with heart health by reduce calcium build up in your arteries. Calcium leaks out of bones and into arteries which may increase the risk of heart disease. Vitamin K. also helps with reducing osteoporosis.
Coconut oil is considered a fatty acid that helps with removing excessive weight. In addition to being used in massage therapies, it helps with healthy functioning of the thyroid and endocrine system. Increasing metabolic rate, coconut oil removes the excessive fat that most competitors struggle with (usually with the last 2-3 lbs prior to weigh-ins).
While coffee is not recommended as one gets close to weigh-in, this recipe actually recommends it. If you are like me, coffee is something I can’t give up in the mornings!
- Kerry Gold Grass-Fed Butter (1tbs)
- Coconut Oil (1tbs)
- 1 cup of coffee
Instructions: Blend butter and coconut oil to make paste. Stir into coffee as desired.
