Demi Lovato is a Blue belt under Jay Glazer. She unfortunately almost overdosed on drugs in July of 2018. At the time, she was a big inspiration for women who had battle issues like depression, eating disorders, self-harm and bullying. Demi fortunately went to rehab and got the help she needed.
Lovato was recently spotted back on social media training Jiu-Jitsu. We couldn’t be happier because sadly for many people, Jiu Jitsu is the only positive thing in their lives. We encourage everyone to use Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu as a tool to fight mental health problems. Not only will you physically improve your health but mentally you will find balance in your lives.
One of the best things that one can learn training Jiu-Jitsu is to breathe. And I don’t mean in the sense of inhaling but controlling your breath. Being in a tough position where you are being choked or staked…….whatever the case may be……If you relax, breath and use your mind, there is always a way to counter your opponent’s attack. Similar to the real world: If you relax, breath and control your mind, the tough time you are experiencing will past. Remember ” Tough times never last, but Tough people do! “
